Easy Peasy Tip: Reduce your daily car trips!
By tinychoices | November 17, 2007
Did you know that the average American household makes about 13 trips per day? I’ll remind you that by saying “average household” we’re talking about 13 CAR TRIPS per day. And half of them are under three miles. According to Segway: “If these households could reduce one trip per car per day, that would result in an additional annual savings of about US$1,100 per household.”
So the next time you need to stop by the grocery store or the dry cleaner, try to combine a trip and do it on your way home from work. Try mapping out your destinations from your home so you can walk or bike to nearby locations instead of driving. It’s good for your health, the environment, and your pocketbook too!
