Easy Peasy Tip: Donate Old Eyeglass Frames
By tinychoices | May 10, 2008
When you’re finished using an old pair of eyeglasses, don’t toss the frames– donate them to a worthy charity instead. This small step helps keep trash out of the waste stream, while providing the gift of clear vision to someone in need.
The Lions Club accepts frames either by mail or at a drop-off center, and Give the Gift of Sight rounds up eyeglass donations at your local LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical or Sunglass Hut stores. Many optometrists also collect old frames too, so ask around during your next exam.

I donate my old glasses to the Wisconsin Council for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
What a cool idea. Whenever I needed new glasses, i would go downtown to antique/flea market shops and find some cool old vintage glasses. They were always way cooler and fun to wear then the ones i saw at the frame shops.
Hearing aids can be recycled also! After my parents passed away I took their hearing aids to the place we purchased them and they assured me that the insides could be reused.
Hey, that’s great to know! My dad wears hearing aids, so I’ll pass this info along to him so he can share it with his buddies!
