Watch out for Smug!
By Karina | August 20, 2008
Jenn sent me this South Park clip - y’all don’t think it’s because I’m a smug hybrid driver, do you? I promise and cross my heart and hope to die that I never speak with my eyes closed. Unless I’m really really tired and am falling asleep while talking to you.
Check out the full episode here. It is hilarious!

I think of that episode whenever I go to the “frou frou organic grocery store” (local co-op) and see the multiple hybrids parked in the lot. LOL!
Every time I talk about the possibility of getting a Prius, my father-in-law says, “A Pious?”
I love that I drive a Hindsight!
LOL!
“i like to be part of the solution and not the problem” he he.
Thanks for posting this, since I don’t have a TV I rarely get to see funny stuff like this! That was awesome.
I don’t have a TV either, so I was happy to be able to watch the full episode on the internets!
Smug? You? Impossible! Truly.
I dont mind people that are all about the prious the only thing that irritates me is when we are driving in one of our vehicles suv or such and people in hybrids are screaming at us for not driving a hybrid, I think that there are so many different kinds of people and if somone wants to drive a prious or a h2 they should just keep there opinions to themself and be happy with what they are driving.
I can’t believe people actually scream at you! I feel almost embarrassed these days that I get such rockin’ gas mileage. And I firmly believe we should ALL be screaming at the car companies, for dropping the ball so spectacularly when it comes to producing cars with good gas mileage to purchase.
People in hybrids yell at SUV drivers? Huh, never occurred to me. Mostly, I’m grateful I could afford to buy a Prius when my beloved Honda Civic went downhill. I do love my car and I feel a kinship when I see another on the road but the only smugness I may feel is when a large vehicle cuts me off, I don’t get angry because I think of what their gas bill must be like and I’m grateful mine isn’t as huge.
What I do find ringing a bell for me in that clip is the riding around in the hydrid. When I first got mine, I drove a lot more because it was so comfortable and fun to drive — not exactly the point of the hybrid.
