Easy Peasy Tip: Purchase Green Energy!

Most utility companies now offer you a choice of purchasing your electricity via regular (ie coal-powered or nuclear) power plants, or through various “green energy” options. It’s a no-brainer to choose the green energy!
It’s simple: call your local utility company and ask them to switch you onto their green energy plan. The actual electricity delivered to your home will most likely still come from the same source it used to, but your purchase will be matched with a local renewable energy provider. So while a pretty windmill might not deliver power directly to your home, its energy will be delivered into the local grid and will offset emissions from the dirtier producers.
It might cost a little bit more, but the few extra dollars each month go a long way towards taking a stand for cleaner energy– there’s strength in numbers!
