Veggie Pride Parade

By Jenn | May 14, 2009

carrotnpea.gifCome Sunday, I’ll be attending the second annual NYC Veggie Pride Parade, marching along with Penelo Pea Pod and Chris P. Carrot (who, by the way, were married at the parade last year.  Not surprisingly [you know how veggies are] they’ve procreated, and there will be an official baby-veggie naming ceremony this year).

The parade starts at 42 Gansevoort St. in the Olde Meat District (c’mon, you can laugh at that) at 12pm, and winds its way to Union Square North, where all the veg*ns will party and dance and revel.

There’s a fabulous lineup of speakers and performers, including dear-friend-of-TC Mickey Z, and a blog, and a slide show with pics from last year.   And no vegetable parade is complete without an  official song: “Get your Green On!

Also discovered two amazing videos via the Parade site:

I also realize that I owe ya’ll an update to the Great Vegan Experiment, which has been a really fascinating ride. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with how much I have to say about it, which, as a friend said, may be the best place to write from. So, coming soon, promise!

Is anyone else going to the Veggie Pride Parade?

Oh, I’m so sad I’ll be missing this…and missing marching with the cool kids! I’ll be on vacation for 2 weeks.

Have a great time!

Peas,
Marisa

Marisa, have a great trip! And when you return, it’s vegan ice cream for us.

Peas to the world!
