Tiny Choices Giveaway: Stainless Steel Sippy Cup!
By Jenn | June 4, 2009
We’ve rambled on about BPA before, and realize that while not everyone is particularly concerned about the purported health threat it may pose, it just seems smart to avoid it when possible.
So, here’s your chance to win an Innate stainless steel sippy cup, fully BPA-free (the cap is#5 food grade polypropylene and the grip is silicone), and totally adorable!
Leave a comment below telling us what the first word you spoke as a baby was, or if you don’t recall that, what you imagine your first word was. Winner will be chosen at random on Thursday, June 11th and must have a U.S. shipping address.

This would come in handy in our home with two little ones!
I’m pretty sure my first words were kitty and boat. Nothing too extraordinary!
My husband and I thought our daughter’s first word was “Dad” (well, technically “Daaa”). He gloated for a week or so until we realized she actually meant Dog!!!
I Just discovered your blog through Best Green Blogs Directory. I have poked around a little and love it–off to read more!
According to my baby book, my first word was, “Hi!”
Very cool sippy!
Nobody made a note of what my first word was. I’m sure it was something brilliant like “Pythagorean.” :-D The daughter who would use the sippy started with “bird.” Unfortunately, the inspiring bird died two days later, leaving a little girl to wander fruitlessly, asking, “Bird? Bird? Bird?”
Cool!
Embarrassingly, my first word was my name: “Jackie.”
hmmm…I don’t remember. But it should have been horse. My little one is 5 months now and it wouldn’t surprise me if her first word was Buddy (our dog’s name). She cant’ get enough of him.
My daughter’s first real word was “turtle” referring to a cloth bath toy. She had previously said da da, but as this was used to refer to both myself and my wife, I do not count it.
Please note that Chicago City Council recently voted to ban BPA containing baby products from being sold in the city.
I think my first word was probably “More!”
Thanks for the opportunity!

I don’t know if this was the official first word, but it’s definitely what my parents talk about most: “habit, habit” (have it)
This cup would definitely come in handy with my toddler!
According to my mom, my first word was “Hot” and I thought it meant food. She always made my food, and when she would put it in front of me she would warn me: hot, hot. :)
My daughter’s first word was probably “baby” - she’d been imitating words, but that was first time she said something without me pointing it out to her first.
My first word was ‘papa’, while kiddo’s first WAS ‘mama’ but he’s said ‘dada’ for everything ever since. :)
This one is easy. “Foo.” He comes by it honestly, given his father’s obsession with cooking!
I have no idea what my first word was, but when I was playing with my young friend Henry several months back (he couldn’t have been older than 6 months old), he put together a series of syllables that sounded suspiciously like “underwear!”
My mom insists my first word was “machu picchu.”
But my brother-in-law had the best first word ever–”bra.”
My mom can’t remember my first word, and I certainly can’t recall it. I’m guessing it was “no!” My son’s first word (he’s being raised bilingually) wasn’t in English, but Estonian. It was “aitäh” which means “thank you.” We’re off to a good start!
oh my mom would kill me for sharing this, but despite her public claims my first word was either “kittie” or “doggie”, I have it on good authority my first word was “sh*t”
My first word was Dad. I would just smile and hug my Mom:)
Great product and great offer to win one.
I have 4 little ones at home, so I will give you the first word for each.
6 year old “light” he loved to check out any new place we went to and was quick to point out and say light to ever light he could find
3 year old “more” He LOVED to eat!!!
14 month old twins
baby “A” first word “ut-oh” as he dropped food off his tray
baby “B” first word “bird” while making the sign for bird and looking out the window.
My first words had to be “I wish I had a green eco friendly sippy cup”. That’s what our daughter’s will be anyway =)

When our older daughter was 8 months old, she was looking in a full length mirror and she suddenly said, as clear as a bell, “baby.”
I don’t remember obviously, but I do remember the story. My grandparents lived with us - and both of them, and my parents secretly tried to get me to say their name first. Turns out - I said my sisters name (or attempted anyway). Sabrina became Sabby.
I think it was mama or dada but I am not sure.
