Easy Peasy Tip: Get some heavy socks! And a scarf!

By tinychoices | November 28, 2009

socks1.jpgIt’s chilly around our parts here at Team Tiny Choices, and many of us are in homes where we try to keep the heat low. So in order to compensate, if you’re going to invest start out with some nice warm heavy socks. We’ve suggested that, in the spirit of Jimmy Carter, we all put on a sweater to stay warm - but you really can’t underestimate the power of some nice warm socks to keep your whole body warm. And if you get really chilled, try putting on a nice warm hat and a scarf. After all, conservation is patriotic AND it saves you money!

I have fallen crazy-in-love with wool socks this year. You can get a 3-pack of very nice OmniWool socks at Sam’s Club now, or go to Sierra Trading Club to get some overstock Smartwool socks. (Or, be like me and pay full price at a regular store. Either way you’ll be happy!)

Wool socks are a slightly pricey way to pamper your feet - they are ridiculously warm! Both my husband and I have stood outside in socks for one reason or another and have noticed that we don’t have cold feet. Regular socks just don’t cut it anymore.

Off my crazy sock soapbox,
Lauren

Oh, and I’m becoming obsessive about wool sweaters, too.
