Beer Can Planters

Ingenious folks have been making fantastical creations from beer cans forever; check out all the ingenious beercan-art from around the interweb there on Google…
But what I saw at my local flea market recently really made me smile- a clever gardener took his empties, sliced off the top 1/3 of the can, and planted tiny baby succulents in there. Small cactii and jade plants are so adorable they’d make anyone happy; put them in a can and it’s over the top awesome.
I haven’t been able to snap a photo, but a friend bought a cluster of 10 planters and they look awesome arranged on his coffee table!
And when those baby plants outgrow their can house (if you’ve got a green thumb) or die (if you, like me, have got a brown thum), those cans aren’t reclaimable for a deposit any longer, but they’re still recyclable!
Have you made or seen any cool eco-conscious planters lately?
